How are you? :) For those who celebrated Easter, how was it? Here in the Philippines, it was a long holiday because it's a Holy Week. Most of the people are out of town to enjoy summer and some do remember to repent by visiting churches. Well, for those who are not aware, most Filipinos are Catholic that's why we have this holiday.
Anyhoo, I'm back once again to share to you guys what I think about another makeup product. This time, it's The Body Shop Nature's Minerals Cheek Colour in Pink Quartz. Since this is my first time reviewing a product from The Body Shop, let me give you some details about the company.
The Body Shop was founded in 1976 by Anita Roddick who was a businesswoman, a human rights activist and an environmental campaigner. The company originated in England. The company have 5 CORE VALUES which are: Support Community Trade, Defend Human Rights, Against Animal Testing, Activate Self-Esteem, and Protect Our Planet. They also have their own foundation which is called, The Body Shop Foundation. Founded in 1990, they assist organizations who wants to achieve progress in the areas of human and civil rights and environmental and animal protection. Today, the The Body Shop is now partly owned by the L'Oreal Corporate Group.
If you want to check out what they have in store for you, you can check their website and their Facebook account. For those who lives in the Philippines, they have their local website and Facebook account. Don't forget to Like them to receive product updates and promos.
The Nature's Minerals Cheek Colour is part of their Nature's Minerals Line. The other products are the Nature's Minerals Eye Colour and the Nature's Minerals Foundation. I also have the foundation but I don't use it that much. Honestly, I have no idea if this line is still available since I got my products early last year.
As what it says on their website, The Nature's Minerals Cheek Colour is a "A premium, up-to-the-minute loose powder formulation for the cheeks, made from minerals. Long-lasting, blendable powders that feel very light on the skin, provide a sheer flush of shimmering colour to accentuate the cheeks. Applies easily and colour blends and builds evenly onto the skin to provide adjustable coverage."
It also says that, "This product contains:
Mediterranean clay - is an absorbent mineral that helps to bind the make-up to the skin for long-lasting coverage.
Mica - in selected shades - adds lustre and has light diffusing properties to help disguise fine lines.
Titanium dioxide and iron oxide - in selected shades - provides a natural-looking colour palette"
Well, that mediterranean clay description is very true. You will know why when you see the pictures.
Here's what the product looks like and some swatches:
The powder is very fine and smooth.
After blending. I know it looks shimmery and it doesn't look like there's any pigment but wait until this product settle on your skin.
This is how it looks like once your skin absorbs the product.
It's only now I realized how pigmented this product is. I don't really use this because I was thinking that it's too shimmery for my liking and there's hardly any pigment. I used to love shimmery makeup but recently not anymore. After applying, my cheeks always looks like they are shinny shimmering splendid, which I hate. But it's only now that I observed that the shimmer is not bad because I can hardly see any glitter and that the color changes once your skin absorbs it.
Also, the color is very deceiving. On the container, the product's color is more on a rosy side. When you swatch it, it's shimmery and pearly. I don't know how to describe it but you know that those shimmers are somewhat white in color because it will appear on your swatch. When the product settles, it transform into a bronzy pink color which is very nice. I love it! This is definitely a good bronzer for me.
All this time, I've been judging this product on how it looks. I'm so happy I did this review because I'm already ignoring this product. :P
To summarize, here's what I love and hate about the The Body Shop Nature's Minerals Cheek Colour. Please take note that these are what I encountered.
Our skin differ so what worked for me might not work for you, vise
versa.
- Messy. I was going to say none because I'm already loving this product but I guess I hate the idea that it's a loose powder. It's pretty messy!
- Price. I honestly don't remember the price but it more than ₱500 (approx. US$12++) for a 2g product.
What I LOVE!
- Packaging. The packaging is so cute and very light. I love the glittery cap.
- Consistency. This product is very smooth and fine like a baby powder.
- Finish. Like what I said awhile ago, the color changes once your skin absorbs it.
- Cruelty-free. I love animals. I'm so happy to know that they don't test this to animals. :)
Re-purchase?
- A DEFINITE YES! But I'm not so sure if this is still available. They do have a new mineral line though.
Recommend?
- YES! Grab it if you found one. It's definitely worth buying if you don't mind the price and it being messy.
Kiss Mark?
- I'm giving this baby 4.5 kissies!
Thank you guys for dropping by.. Looking forward to do a review again.
Tata for now! :)
