Dirt Cheap Finds! Super Pigmented Eyeshadow Palette..

Hey Guys!

I'm happy and excited to share this eyeshadow palette I just bought. It's Dirt Cheap yet super pigmented. It's the Qianyu Professional Make-up Double Layer 10 Color Eyeshadow in No. 04. Okay, that was a mouthful. Good luck memorizing that! :)

For sure, makeup snobs won't even take a second look at this baby. Ex-snob here BTW! But sometimes lovelies, we need to have an open mind specially for products that really does the job. Still, be careful! It wouldn't hurt to have a mindset that anything cheap is harmful.

So, I was out grocery shopping in one of the malls here in the Philippines when I spot this beauty. It was so metallic, so shiny, and so pretty! I just can't resist not buying it. When I saw the brand, Qianyu, I knew right away that it's Made in China and probably a brand from China. I was like thinking, "Well, not everything from there is bad. So, what the heck let's buy it!"

There were 3 color varieties available at that time but I chose this because I think the color is wearable. When I got home, I did some research and found out that this product has 4 color varieties. The brand can also be found in other countries. NOT only in Asia, but also in the US and some parts of Europe. You can check your local markets and bazaars if they have it.

2 of the varieties came with 8 eyeshadow and 2 blush. The other 2 are all eyeshadow. I got the one with no blush which is definitely okay because if something went wrong, atleast I only have one problem right? Which are my eyes...... Lol! :) BTW, I don't own the pictures above.

Nice! Not all makeup has an expiration date but it contains TALC.

The price is approx. US$1.50.

These are the swatches. I didn't use any primer or base here. They are just highly pigmented on their own. Also, I only swiped my fingers ones on each color because the color transfer is just crazy.

If you can only see how pretty the palette is. I really enjoy staring at it because of how pigmented and how metallic it is. So beautiful... :)

Anyhoo, since the product easily transfer, be careful of fallout! Unless you want to look shiny shimmery splendid. The texture of the eyeshadow is almost creamy so it's very easy to apply and to also blend. There might be some fallout from time to time but it will depend on the brush you will use. As expected, longevity is not that long since it transfers easily. You will need a primer. The product has a floral smell but bearable. The eyeshadow stains specially the black one.

BTW! I already tested this product on my eyelids for almost 8 hours. I didn't itch. I didn't feel any sting whatsoever. I have oily-combi sensitive skin but I didn't experience anything unusual. I just don't know after prolong use, we'll see!

Also, I didn't find any negative feedback regarding the brand Qianyu except the one from EcoWaste Coalition.

Feedback Time! e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush

I'm here once again to share what I think and what I encountered with the e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush. Like what I always say, I bought this product using my own money. This is not a sponsored review and I don't get paid for this. Still, I'm loving what I'm doing. :)

Eyes Lips Face was founded by two gentlemen named Joseph Shamah and Scott Vincent Borba back in 2004. They practically met in a party in 2002 and poof, a few months later, a business plan was born. e.l.f. Cosmetics was officially launched in New York City on June 2004. The company started with 13 makeup products and now they have more than 300 products for sale. Do check out their local website and Facebook account to see what they have available in our country. You can also check their international website to see what's new.

The very first e.l.f product that I had was their single blush in a peach color. It came in a translucent container, that's all that I can remember because it was like 6 years ago, I think. Yes, e.l.f. is not new in the Philippines. I was inlove with it that's why after finishing that blush, I bought another one which came in pink. I tried searching for the products that I'm saying and I'm so happy I found them.

I loved these but I don't know why I didn't re-purchase. I think maybe because it wasn't well known before and I'm kinda scared of the idea that it was just 120+ pesos ($3) at that time and was Made in China. Well, everything is now Made in China, what's new? To bad they no longer have this because I would definitely purchase it again. I'm not sure if it's the same as the e.l.f. Essential Blush with Brush.

Anyhoo, let's get back to business! The e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush is the very first single brush that I own. I bought it November of last year out of curiosity. I've seen and read good reviews about this. I'm really not a brush person before because I use sponge to apply foundation and when applying a blush, I usually use the brush that came with the blusher. Just imagine how innocent I was.

Anyway, the brush is part of the e.l.f. Studio line. You can purchase this alone or in a set together with the other Studio brushes. I'm loving the e.l.f. brush holder btw. I hope they have it here.

Here's what the e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush looks like:

I love the idea that it came with a plastic cover. DO NOT throw it away! Trust me, it's very useful. It protects your brush head from deforming at the same time it's very hygienic specially if you don't have a separate pouch for your brush inside your bag. Just make sure to clean it as well.

In all fairness, their description is spot-on. The brush do create a flawless finish compared to using a sponge or a puff. You can apply and blend liquid foundations and bb creams using this brush.

Moving on to the bristle and its performance:

 The middle section hardly have any powder since I'm hitting the pan of my foundation.

The brush is very soft and lightweight. It doesn't feel like it's scratching your face everytime you use it. It's very easy to clean, just use a mild soap and water. I never encountered any shedding on this brush which is Awesome! :) Two swirls on your foundation is enough to cover half of your face, if you are after 1 layer application. The only thing I noticed is, it's not that soft anymore compared to the first time I bought it. I don't know if it's just me. Well, probably it's just me because it is still very soft. :)

To summarize, here's what I love and hate about the e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush. Please take note that these are what I encountered. Our senses differ so what worked for me might not work for you, vise versa.

What I HATE!

• Price. Honestly, I was going to say nothing but there is no such thing as nothing! if you are doing an honest review. This product cost ₱250 (approx. US$6). But in the US, it's only $3. Well, things are really cheaper in the US compared here because the product is from there. It's pretty logical.

What I LOVE! 

• Cruelty-free. I'm an animal lover so I'm very happy to say that no animals were hurt in the process of making this brush. :)
• Texture. This brush is very soft, love it! :) 
• Finish. It does create a flawless look. 
• Hygienic. Love the plastic cover. It protects the brush. Don't throw it away!
• Useful. You can use it to contour your face. To apply bronzer, foundation, blush, shimmer, whatsoever. Did I say you can also use this to apply wet products like foundation, bb cream, and blush? Wow! 
• Washable. Very easy to wash. Just use a mild soap or a baby shampoo then wash it with warm water. Btw, Yes! You SHOULD clean your brushes! If not everyday, atleast once a week.

Re-purchase?
- YES but I don't think I will purchase it anytime soon. Since this baby never shed, as in! :)

Recommend?
- YES, I'm even planning to purchase this as a gift to a friend. That's how much I love it. I'm sharing the wealth.

Feedback Time! Maybelline New York The Rocket Volum' Express..

I'm here to share my thoughts on Maybelline New York The Rocket Volum' Express. Once again, this is not sponsored. I bought this product with my own money.

Ever since I discovered Maybelline mascaras, I never looked at other brands ever again. For me, they are the best affordable mascaras out there because it really does thickens and lengthens my lashes. Well, now that I'm blogging, I'm looking to buy new ones from different brands so I can review them.

Maybelline was founded by a 19 year old entrepreneur, Tom Lyle Williams back in 1915. Their first product was a lash-in-brow-line and he named it Maybelline, after her sister Mabel who gave him the idea.
In 1991, they came up with their on tagline, Maybe she's born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline. Very catchy! :) The company grew and grew and was sold to Schering-Plough and in 1996, acquired by L'Oréal.

The Rocket Volum' Express was launched here, if I'm not mistaken, during the Holidays last year. They were on sale at that time. Unfortunately when I got this, it's not on sale anymore. :l

From The Falsies I switched to The Magnum Waterproof then to The Magnum Superfilm because the magnum waterproof mascara was really hard to remove even if you're using soap and water. I remember complaining this to the beauty consultant but she told me I need their makeup remover to remove it. Lol! :) Seriously? Thanks but no thanks.

Hmmm... Zero clumps? If new, yes but if you have it for weeks and it's starting to dry already, it kinda clumps if you apply too much. Btw, I hate new mascaras. I love mascaras which are already a few weeks old. I noticed that the consistency of few weeks old mascaras are thicker on the lashes compared to new ones. 8x bigger? Well not really but close, it's 5x bigger! :)

I used to have thick long lashes but ever since I use lash curlers, I noticed they are not that thick anymore. That's why I stopped using curlers since mascaras automatically curls lashes anyway.


Aargh.. Enough with the chit chat!! For the evidence, here are the before and after pictures:

Zoom in all you want! You won't see fake lashes there. I applied the mascara 2x here.

Dang! I was surprised when I was checking the pictures. It's not everyday that I take selfies with my eyes closed so I never saw my lashes at this point of view. No wonder people are always asking if I was wearing false lashes. Btw, please don't forget that this is the result of a 2 month old mascara. Like what I said awhile ago, new mascaras consistency are not that thick compared to few weeks old ones.

To summarize, here's what I love and hate about the Maybelline New York The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara. Please take note that these are what I encountered. Our lashes differ so what worked for me might not work for you, vise versa.

What I HATE!

• Consistency. Dries easily! You have no choice but to buy a new one after 3 months. Also, I noticed at the end of the day, it flakes. It's hard to describe but when you accidentally rub your eyes, there are little black flakes coming from your lashes. It gets to my eyes all the time so I need to wash it right away.
• Finish. There's clumping if you apply too much. Not applicable for newly bought ones.
• Smell. It has a chemical smell but bearable.

What I LOVE!

• Consistency. If it's not new, expect your lashes to be this fuller and longer.
• Finish. Need I say more? Look at the pictures.
• Affordable. I know it's nearing 500 pesos but hello! For that outcome. I look like I have lash implants. I'm really shocked. (₱399 approx. US$9)
• Washable. I read on their website that some people are complaining that the mascara is hard to remove. Base on my experience, it's easy. Soap and water is enough. But if you are using astringent, it doesn't do the job properly.

Re-purchase?
- YES YES YES!! :)

Recommend?
- I'm already recommending this to you. Just be careful not to over apply or else it will clump. 2 to 3 application is enough.

Feedback Time! Revlon Super Lustrous Crème Lipstick in Certainly Red..

It's that time of the year again where lovers bond and babies are made. Lol! :) So let me greet you guys,

Btw, we already celebrated Valentine's yesterday to avoid the rush so I'm proud to brag that I don't have a lonely heart. :) Anyway, since this day is all about red, I'm here to make a review on Revlon Super Lustrous Crème Lipstick in Certainly Red.

Revlon has a very long history. When I did some research about the company, I'm not surprised that they started off selling nail enamels. Almost every cosmetic company out there, either local or international, starts with nail polishes. Revlon was founded back in 1931 and started selling polishes in the department stores and drug stores in 1937. This company is so diverse, their products ranges from makeup to fragrances. Come check out their local Facebook account and their international website to see what they have for you.

The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick comes in 82 shades and 4 fabulous finishes. Infused with mega-moisturizers to seal in color and softness. Find your lip color amongst a dazzling array of 82 shade in 4 fabulous finishes of Matte, Pearl, Crème and Shine.

I always use this lipstick back when I was a Casino Dealer. I love the color, so does my players. This was my signature lipstick then. The color, like what the name says, is certainly red. I love how it looks on me because it makes me stand out from the crowd.

But when used, like mine, it will soon look like this:

Lol! :) I told you it was my signature lipstick. I use it everyday back then that's why it's almost gone now. I got the color Certainly Red. It actually gives an old hollywood vibe.

The texture is creamy. Yes, that's a boo2x.. :(

The product is creamy and easy to apply. Just be careful because the product easily transfers to anything it touches. For the longevity, I would say not that long. After eating or drinking, expect it to be gone already. As for the price, I don't remember how much I got it. I think it's around 600 pesos?

To summarize, here's what I love and hate about the Revlon Super Lustrous Crème Lipstick. Please take note that these are what I encountered. Our lips differ so what worked for me might not work for you, vise versa.

What I HATE!

• Longevity. Doesn't last long. Doesn't even stain the lips so you would really need to re-apply after eating or drinking.
• Messy. In a way that it easily transfer.
• Packaging. The logo is all gone. :(

What I LOVE!

• Texture. It's easy to apply.
• Variety. So many colors available.
• Finish. I love the finish! It makes your lips look soft and moisturized.

Re-purchase?
- Yes I will but I would probably try a different color or maybe their matte version.

Recommend?
- Definitely yes! Though the product doesn't last long. It's a very nice lipstick.
